HOW TO APPLY FOR THE SUMMER SCHOOL “RADUGA” VIA THE ONLINE APPLICATION PORTAL?

What is an on-line application?

An on-line application is an electronic form of filling documents. It is an electronic questionnaire consisting of 4 sections. You should fill in all the sections of the electronic form with the true and correct information about yourself. When you enter all the required information you should print out your application form, attach a passport-size photo to it and sign it. Then scan your application form and your valid foreign (travel) passport and upload these two documents to the online portal in the section “Upload Documents”. When you do this, press the button “Submit”. Our congratulations! You have applied for the Summer School “Raduga”! If you want apply right now, please go to the UdsU application portal:

What documents should I submit to apply for the Summer school “Raduga”?

Once you have registered on the UdSU online portal and received a username and a password by e-mail to access your personal account, you should enter the UdSU online portal and fill in an electronic questionnaire consisting of 4 sections.When you enter all the required information you should print out your application form, attach a passport-size photo to it and sign it. What is an on-line TORFL (Test of Russian as a Foreign Language)?

Online Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL) is one of the steps you must take to apply for the Summer School “Raduga”. Your test result will enable us to choose for you the group that will suit you better depending on your level of the Russian language competence. Thus, when you undergo the Test, please be honest and do the tasks yourself!

DOCUMENTS AND THE AGREEMENT

Why do I need an agreement?

An agreement (contract) is a proof of payment of the Summer School courses. The total price includes the cost of the Summer School courses  and the cost charged for forwarding the Invitation letter to you. The latter depends on the area in which your country is located.

What steps should I take to sign an agreement?

Once you complete your online application and upload all the required scanned documents to the UdSU online portal, we start making an agreement. When the agreement is signed by the rector of UdSU, we send its scanned copy to your e-mail address. You should print out only the last page of the agreement and sign it. Then please send to inec@udsu.ru a scanned copy of the agreement with your signature. Once the agreement is signed by both parties (by the rector of UdSU and by you), you can make a prepayment.

How and when can I pay for the Summer School courses?

You can pay for the Summer School courses after you have signed the agreement and sent to us a scanned copy of the last page of the agreement with your signature. You should make a 40 % prepayment of the total cost in accordance with the terms of the agreement. You can transfer this sum in Euros or dollars (according to the agreement) from the bank in your country. Once UdSU gets the information about the money transfer from the partner bank, we will send you a letter of notification by e-mail. The final payment is made in cash to UdSU cash desk upon your arrival to Izhevsk.

When will I get my Invitation letter after I have completed the on-line application?

We start issuing an official Invitation for you as soon as we get the signed Agreement from you. Once we receive a 40% prepayment on the UdSU bank account, we will send an Invitation letter to you by an express postal service. Delivery time depends on the distance from the Russian Federation to the zone where your country is located. You can track the information on the Invitation letter delivery on the official website of the Russian Post at http://www.emspost.ru/ru/

What document will I get after the completion of the Summer School courses?

Upon completion of the training program students are awarded certificates of successful completion of the Summer School course. This Certificate contains information about the courses taken, the grades received, the number of academic hours attended (98 hours academic hours) and the number of credits (3 ECTS*) received. *1 ECTS is 36 academic hours. Credits can be reassigned in accordance with the credit system of your University.

UNIVERSITY CAMPUS

Where are the Udmurt State University and the university dormitory located?

The University is located in the central part of Izhevsk in a 10-minutes walk from the central square. The University campus buildings are very close to each other and constitute a single complex (in a 2-5 minutes’ walking distance from each other). The University address: 1, Universitetskaya Street, 426034 Izhevsk, Russia.The Student Dormitory is located on the territory of the University Campus, in a 5-7 minutes’ walk from the building where you will have your classes. The Dormitory address: 226, Udmurtskaya Street, Izhevsk.

How many students live in one dormitory room?

Students are accommodated in double rooms. No single rooms are provided in the dormitory.

When and how much should I pay for the dormitory?

The accommodation fee at the University dormitory is 4 200 RUR per month (approx. 98 €). When you buy tickets to Russia and know the exact dates of your arrival in and departure from Izhevsk, we will be able to inform you on the exact price (it depends on the number of days if you live in the dormitory for less than a month). You can pay the accommodation fee upon arrival in Izhevsk.

CLASSROOM HOURS AND CULTURAL PROGRAM

How long is a classroom hour? How many classes will I have per day?

A Russian language lesson lasts for an hour (60 minutes). Each day you will have 3 lessons with break time.

Is it mandatory to attend the Cultural program?

Attendance of the Summer School cultural program is mandatory, because the cultural program is integrated into the summer school curriculum which constitutes in total 98 academic hours.

Should I pay for the excursions?

You will not be charged for the excursions included into the cultural program. The cost of the excursions is already included in the total cost of the Summer School courses (14 000 RUR).

What does the cultural program include?

The cultural program includes workshops, video clubs of the Russian cinema, discussion clubs and excursions to the most famous and popular places in the city and the Udmurt Republic. Three weeks of the Summer School program aim to introduce its participants to the Historical, Cultural and Multiethnic Russia. Every week the excursion program is devoted to one of the aspects mentioned above.

How can I get to Izhevsk?

You can get to Izhevsk by plane or by train from Moscow or from Kazan. Train tickets can be booked online at the Russian Railways website: http://rzd.ru/ Airline

I am in Izhevsk. How can I get to the University?

When you buy tickets to Izhevsk, you should provide us with the information about your arrival. A tutor/ a buddy (an UdSU student) will meet you at the railway station or at the airport and escort you to the University dormitory. This tutor/buddy will be assisting you during your stay in Izhevsk. You can get to the University dormitory from the railway station or the airport by public transport (fare is 17 RUR) or by taxi (it will cost you approximately 200 - 500 RUR).
